Behold Journal Entry for January 20, 2026

My word for the year is Behold. It's not a word we say much today, but it's used often in God's word when something magnificent is to be noticed or heard. Maybe the best use of it today is when we say, "Look!"
I chose this word for its reminder to me to look to God, to all he has created, all he has done, and continues to do each day.
In my third novel, which I'm currently editing, the grandmother in the story gathers things on her walks and then gives them to her young great granddaughter, telling her why she picked them, usually relating the object to something that will inspire faith or resilience. I've decided to do a similar kind of noticing, gathering, and sharing. Today, it was a simple yellow petal, and I chose to write my thoughts as a poem. I hope this encourages you to behold some goodness today. Maybe write about it if you're one who journals, paint or sketch it if you're an artist, photograph it, or simply notice it and say a quick prayer. Feel free to share it here, or anywhere you feel nudged to do so. Most of all, have a blessed day today, beholding God's great love for you.

"Let all that I am praise the Lord . . ."
