Today It’s the Sky
Behold Journal for January 21, 2026
Today it's the sky.
My first glimpse of it is early morning, and it’s a billowy blanket of gray. The outline of trees is deep black against it, and a burst of golden light, a brilliant bulb, pierces through. I can’t reach up and grab it, fold it up like a beautiful print acquired at an art fair. But I picture God unfurling it with his fingers as the sun peeks out, as he says, "Here, my loves, this is for all of you." So I notice, capture it in my mind, keep its light in my heart, and let that shine out. I can look up anytime and remember who lays the sky before me every day, who holds all things in place, who calls forth light and love with a single word, carrying me throughout the day. I can remember who has all the answers I don't have and don’t need, remember who simply is and does and goes before me.
Thank you, Lord, for the gift of sky today, and for your presence, blanketing over everyone I love, always.
Behold - Today it’s the sky.

I pray these "Behold" entries inspire you to look up and remember the gifts of each day, and that maybe they inspire you to gather and journal or paint or simply smile at what you notice, too. Have a blessed day, beholding God's vast love for you.
